Marco Varela

Marco Varela is an up-and-coming sophomore at Marshal Fundamental Highschool, where he balances academics, athletics, and creative passions. With a 4.43 GPA from his freshman year, Marco is a dedicated student who also competes in high school soccer and basketball, and is currently training to earn a spot on the baseball team. Outside of sports and school, he’s discovered a new passion for filmmaking and enjoys visual storytelling through video. He also lifts regularly, pushing himself to grow stronger both mentally and physically.

This is a short film about the passage of time. A tree has lived for centuries, watching as the Greek empire rise and fell. The project aims to show the progression of human civilization over time. We made this project because it symbolizes life, death, rebirth, and knowledge.
