Sullivan Gillmore

My name is Sullivan (Sully) Gillmore. I am a rising senior who typically works in colored pencil and acrylic, focusing on the intersection of memory and reality. I am most fascinated by the teenage experience and childhood vision. My work explores how young eyes and memories transform the world into something chaotic, vibrant, and deeply personal. Outside of art, I love to run and jump; I’ve discovered that I’m a kinesthetic learner, remembering experiences most vividly when I’m in motion. Because of this, many of my pieces are inspired by intense memories formed through movement and activity. I thrive in the balance between motion and creation, where physical experiences become the foundation for artistic expression.

The Museum of Becoming

Museum of Becoming is an interactive journey through memory, déjà vu, and the creative mind. The viewer explores a dreamlike museum where every hallway, painting, and shifting space represents fragments of thought and lived experience. As they travel through childhood memories, moments of love, uncertainty, and inspiration, they uncover glowing pathways that form the neural connections behind creativity itself. The imagined journey culminates in the act of creation: standing before a blank canvas, ready to paint. The project explores the belief that creativity is not a single moment of inspiration, but the accumulation of memories, emotions, relationships, and the courage to revisit them until they become something new.
